L.A.C. KZ, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed during the state visit of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Hungary in Budapest. The aim of the cooperation is to develop research on the adaptation of Hungarian seeds and the production and processing of Hungarian seeds in Kazakhstan. MATE would train agricultural specialists through the establishment of a centre of excellence. This research development is only a part of the so-called preparation of our future vision, which is to create an agriculture-food industry, a complete supply chain from seed to table (seed-crop-feed-animal-animal-processing-food) based on a Hungarian knowledge base.
L.A.C. Holding Zrt.'s Kazakh subsidiary, L.A.C. KZ, has been strengthening Hungarian-Kazakh economic trade relations for many years. The company was established with a twofold objective: firstly, to introduce Hungarian technology to Kazakh partners and to enable Hungarian investors to enter Kazakhstan, and secondly, to help Kazakh goods reach the Hungarian and European markets. The company's profile includes supporting Hungarian SMEs in establishing contacts and cooperation with Kazakh companies, and seed sales are an important area of activity.
Seed production is mainly Hungarian hybrid maize seeds, which have performed well in Kazakhstan in recent years. In addition, other cereal seeds and oilseeds (sunflower, rape, soybean). The seed sector is one of the most professional in Hungary. Its professional standards and achievements are internationally recognised. For many years, work has been underway on various agricultural developments, focusing mainly on domestic exports and local production in Kazakhstan.
